UNLV senior Seema Sadekar came in 10th to lead the Rebel women golfers at the PING/ASU Invitational which wrapped up at Karsten Golf Course on Sunday.
It was the first top-10 finish of the season for Sadekar, who shot a two-over 74 on her way to a three-round total of one-under 215 (72-69-74) on the 6,230-yard course. She was one-under on Sunday with five holes to played, but closed her round with three bogies and two pars.
Anna Nordqvist of Arizona State took home medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 206 (-10) after she carded a three-under 69, her third-straight sub-par round of the tournament. Behind her strong play the host Sun Devils won the team title going away, carding a team total of 13-under 851, which was 22 strokes better than second-place Vanderbilt (873, +9).
As a team UNLV wrapped up in 11th place with a team score of 52-over 916 (300-306-310).
Rebel freshman Natasha Krishna shot a second-straight 75 (+3) and tied for 25th with a three-round score of 222 (72-75-75, +6). Nicole McGirr tied for 70th with a score a 237 (77-78-82, +21), Melissa Mabanta (79-84-79--242, +26) finished tied for 82nd and Kasi Lee (83-86-85--254, +38) came in 90th.
