UNLV THINKING FOUR PEAT: UNLV opens postseason play and will be attempting to win its fourth-straight title as the Mountain West Conference Championships begin this Thursday in St. George, Utah. The Rebels have won the last three league titles and are attempting to become the second team in MWC history to win four league crowns in a row. New Mexico accomplished the feat from 2000-03 before the Lobos were knocked off the top spot by the Rebels in 2004. UNLV and New Mexico are the only two teams in the history of the MWC to win the league championship. Medalist honors will also be up for grabs and at the past three tournaments, three different Rebels have earned the individual title. UNLV has had the most individuals win medalist honors, followed by New Mexico with two and Colorado State and Wyoming with one each. The tournament gets underway at 8:30 a.m. (PT), with 18 holes being played on Thursday, followed by another 18 each day on Friday and Saturday.
THE FIELD: Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, TCU and Wyoming.
THE COURSE: This year's championship will be held at Entrada at Snow Canyon and it is a par-71, 6,210-yard course. It will be the second straight year that this course has played host to the MWC Championships and the third time the tournament has been in St. George, Utah.
