Rebels Finish Play At NCAA West Regional

ST. GEORGE, Utah - NCAA West Regional Results

UNLV women's golf finished 17th following the final round at the NCAA West Regional, as the Rebels carded a total of 954 (319-310-325, +61) at the tournament that was played at Entrada at Snow Canyon.

Oklahoma State and Stanford tied for first with 54-hole scores of 874 (+22), which was good for a two-shot win over Arizona State. Pernilla Lindberg of Oklahoma State won medalist honors and was the only player to finish below par for the tournament, shooting a 206 (-7) on the par-71, 6,234-yard course.

Natasha Krishna finished in the top 30 for UNLV, putting together a 54-hole total of 226 (77-72-77, +13) to finish tied for 28th overall in her first NCAA regional tournament. She was one of four Rebels who were playing in their first NCAA event.

Rebel senior Seema Sadekar finished with an 81 (+10) on Saturday on her way to a final score of 229 (72-76-81, +16) to tie for 44th. This was the fourth regional tournament for Sadekar and she also was the lone Rebel to have played in a regional before this year's tournament.

UNLV freshman Melissa Mabanta finished tied for 95th with a total of 251 (86-81-84, +38), sophomore Kasi Lee had a total of 253 (87-81-85, +40) and came in 101st and sophomore Nicole McGirr wrapped up with a 254 (84-87-83, +41) to finish 102nd.

The top eight teams in the 21-team field advanced to the NCAA Championships, which are May 22-25 at Daytona Beach, Fla.
