Krishna Competes In Japan LGPA Event

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golfer Natasha Krishna played in her first career professional tournament this past week, competing in two rounds before missing the cut in the We Love Kobe Suntory Open, which was an event on the Japan LPGA tour.

Krishna shot rounds of 75-80 to finish with a two-round total of 155, which was five strokes below the cut line of 150. 'Na Zhang won the tournament with a four-round total of 10-under 278. Krishna competed under a special invitation extended to New Zealand Golf, and the tournament was played June 7-10 at the Rokko Kokusai Golf Club in Hyogo, Japan.

Krishna recently wrapped up her freshman year with the Rebels and she was second on the team with a 74.6 scoring average on her way to earning All-Mountain West Conference honors.

This was the second international event for Krishna this past year, as she played in the 29th Queen Sirikit Cup, which was held in the Philippines on March 21-23. Krishna was part of the New Zealand team, which finished fourth at the event.
