OFF THE TEE: UNLV opens its season at the prestigous 2007 Margaret Moses Branch NCAA Fall Preview, being played this year at the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M. The tournament is being hosted by the University of New Mexico and the course will also host the 2008 Mountain West Conference and the NCAA Championships. The 54-hole tournament begins this Monday with 18 holes, and continues on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 18-team field features the top 12 finishers from last year's NCAA Championships, including three-time title winner Duke. In fact, no less than 16 of the teams in the field are currently ranked in Golfweek's Preseason Top-30 Poll, including the top 11 teams in the country. UNLV will be joined at the event by conference foes New Mexico, TCU and BYU as well.

THE COURSE: The 54-hole event will be played at the University of New Mexico's Championship Course, the home of the 2007 NCAA Women's Golf National Championship scheduled for May 20-23, 2008. It is also the same course that the 2008 Mountain West Conference Championships will be played on, which will be held Aprl 16-18.
