LAS VEGAS - UNLV's contingent went a 7-2 in singles and doubles during the second day of the 2007 UNLV Women's Tennis Fall Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Saturday.

Playing in the top flight, seniior star Elena Gantcheva, ranked 50th in the preseason, rolled past Thalia Barriga 6-1, 6-1 to move into the finals. She will face new teammate Katy Williams, who edged Mykala Hedberg of LSU to advance 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Two other Lady Rebels will play for title on Sunday morning. Winning for the hosts were Anna Maskaljun, 6-1, 7-6, over Tiffany Tucker of LSU, in the second flight, and Adrienn Hidvegi, who won her match in flight three, 6-4, 6-0, over Stacey Pinchbeck of NAU.

UNLV won doubles championships on all three flights. Gantcheva and Alisa Razina won 8-3 over Hedberg and Tucker of LSU in the top flight. Williams and Maskaljun blanked Mathis and Murdock of LSU 8-0 in the second flight. Nikol Dimitrova and Hidvegi won 8-3 over Pinchbeck and Oki of NAU to take the third flight.

Singles action will wrap up Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
