LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golf was ranked 29th in Golfweek's Preseason Poll, the magazine announced on Tuesday and the Rebels were one of three teams from the Mountain West Conference in the poll.
Three-time defending NCAA Champion Duke was No. 1, followed by Arizona State, USC, UCLA and then Auburn in the top five. Joining the Rebels in the poll were fellow league members New Mexico (17) and BYU (22).
The Rebels enter their sixth season under the direction of head coach Missy Ringler and the progam's seventh overall. They return four letterwinners from last year's squad including All-MWC selection Natasha Krishna.
UNLV opens its season on the road at the 2007 NCAA Fall Preview in Albuquerque, N.M., on Sept. 24-26, and the tournament will be played on the UNM Championships Course, which will also be the site for the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championships.
