LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golf senior Tonya Choate finished 27th at the Harder Hall Women's Invitational, held last week at the Harder Hall Country Club in Sebring, Fla.
The tournament was an amateur event that featured a field of 100 women with handicap indexes of 16.4 and under.
Choate, who wrapped up her first semester with the Rebels this past fall after transferring from Division-II Drury, shot a four-round score of 313 (+25) on the par-72, 6,151-yard course. Choate opened with an 85 but then rebounded to post scores of 78, 74 and 76 over the final three rounds of the tournament. She finished tied for ninth at the same event last year.
Choate and her Rebel teammates will return to the course next month and will tee off the Spring season at the Wildcat Invitational, held Feb. 25-27 in Tucson, Ariz.
