UNLV game notes vs. New Mexico
The UNLV men's soccer team (7-4-1, 2-2) is ready to continue conference play at home as it will face the Lobos of New Mexico on Friday night at 7:30 pm in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest. The game is also part of a doubleheader with the UNLV women's team, and it is also Breast Cancer Awareness night at UNLV.
The Rebels played strong soccer last weekend as they faced two tough conference opponents. After starting league play off a little shaky on offense, the Rebels were able to regain confidence and defeat both the Hornets of Sacramento State and Spartans of San Jose State. The Rebels are currently in the third place with six points. The Lobos, who are tied for first in the MPSF, will prove to be another tough test for the Rebels, but UNLV is ready for the competition and to stay undefeated in conference play on its home field.
UNLV senior forward Lamar Neagle is having a tremendous season for the Rebels and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon. Neagle has scored seven goals this season, including two two game-winning goals over the weekend in the Rebels' 4-1 win over Sacramento State and another in the 2-1 victory over San Jose State. Sophomore Stephen Sifuentes scored two goals in the Rebels win over the Hornets. Senior Ben Haugland was able to score his first goal of the season against the Hornets and scored again on Sunday against the Spartans. Senior goalkeeper Hawk Mummey had seven saves between the two games.

The Lobos beating both San Jose State and Sacramento State. Junior defender Simon Ejdemyr was named as co-player of the week as he tallied his first career assist.
