Second Round Results
ADELAIDE, Australia - UNLV women's golfers Natasha Krishna and Therese Koelbaek are through 36 holes at the 2008 World Amateur Team Championships, which is being held in Adelaide, Australia.
Krishna, a junior for the Rebels, is playing for New Zealand, while Koelbaek, a sophomore, is part of Denmark's squad at the four-day tournament. The tournament is being played on two different courses at the Grange Golf Club and includes a field of 48 international teams. Each country's team has three players, and the top two scores from each round are counted toward the team score.
"As a coach I am extremely proud that two of our players have the opportunity to represent their countries at the World Amateur Championships," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. "Therese and Natasha mean a lot to this program and we look forward to their return once they finish playing at the championships."
Following today's second round Denmark is tied for 10th with a score of 298 (+8) and New Zealand is tied for 14th with a team score of 300 (+10). Sweden has the team lead with a 275 (-15), good for an eight-stroke lead over Spain with two rounds to play.
Koelbaek is tied for 47th overall with a 36-hole total of 153 (+8) after she shot a seven-over 80 today, and Krishna is tied for 64th with a score of 155 (+10) that includes a second-round score of four-over 77.
