Former Rebels In Q-School

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former UNLV women's golfers Sunny Oh, Elena Kurokawa and Hwanhee Lee are in the field at the annual LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, which started today at the LPGA International.

A field of 140 players will compete in the 90-hole event to either earn membership or improve their current membership status for the 2009 LPGA season. The field represents 20 countries, including the United States, with 31 states represented. The five-day qualifier will be played on both the Legends and Champions courses at LPGA International, with a 72-hole cut to the low-70 players and ties. Those players will then compete on Sunday on the Champions course for the final 18 holes of play.

Oh is currently tied for 19th after today's first round with a one-under 71, Lee is tied for 35th at even-par 72 and Kurokawa is tied for 101st with a four-over 76. Also in the field is Michelle Wie, who is tied for sixth with a three-under 69.

The top 20 players at the conclusion of the event will earn Priority List Category 11. In the event of a tie, a playoff will decide the 20th position. Players finishing in the 21st through 30th spots will earn Priority List Category 16, followed by 31st to 40th, who will receive Priority List Category 20.
