MWC SECOND ROUND RESULTS 
UNLV women's golf remained in third place following Friday's second round of the Mountain West Conference Championships, being played at the Championship Course and hosted by the University of New Mexico.
The Rebels shot a second-round 306 (+14), giving them a two-day total of 614 (+30) heading into the final round tomorrow. Leading the way for UNLV is the freshman duo of Therese Koelbaek and Alejandra Guacaname, as they both are in the top 10 after two rounds of play.
"It was a solid day for us, we just could not make any birdies," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. Between the four players that counted toward our score today, we only had a total of three birdies. WE are looking forward to getting those tomorrow."
New Mexico, playing on its home course, was the only team to record a sub-par round, shooting a one-under 291 for a two-round total of 589 (+5), giving the Lobos a commanding 14-stroke lead over BYU, which is second at 603 (+19). The Cougars have an 11-shot lead over the Rebels, with TCU (626, +42) in fourth, followed by Colorado State (638, +54), Wyoming (646, +62) and San Diego State (654, +70).
Britney Choy of New Mexico moved into the lead, shooting a two-under 71 for a two-day total of 145 (-1) and she is the only player under par after 36 holes of play. Morgan Grantham and Jodi Ewart of UNM, and Natalie Jimemez of BYU are tied for third, two shots back with scores of 147 (+1). Koelbaek and Daphne Vines are next, tied for fifth heading into the final round with scores of 149 (+3).
Koelbaek carded a three-over 76 on her round today, which followed an even-par opening round yesterday, and she is just four shots back of the leader with 18 holes to go. Guacaneme is tied for eighth with a two-round total of 153 (77-76, +7).
UNLV sophomore Natasha Krishna is just out of the top 10, sitting tied for 11th with a two-round score of 155 (79-76, +9), while Tonya Choate and Kasi Lee are tied for 19th with scores of 159 (+13).
Tomorrow's final round gets underway at 7:30 a.m. (PDT) and the first tee time for the Rebels will be Lee, who tees off of hole one at 9:10 a.m.
