LAS VEGAS - The 39th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team completed a Sunday doubleheader sweep with 4-0 blanking of Weber State on a windy day at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Lady Rebels improved to 3-0 while the Wildcats fell to 0-3.

The teams played singles first and the hosts did not lose a set. Kristina Nedeltcheva won 6-0, 6-2 at the top spot, Katy Williams blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, Anna Maskaljun won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Rumyana Terzieva won 6-0, 6-0 on court six. With the team match decided, the remaining courts were halted and doubles play canceled.

"It feels good to get the spring season started with three wins," said UNLV head coach Kevin Cory, whose team downed Pacific 4-3 earlier in the day. "I'm proud of the way the girls handled the difficult conditions out there today. Now we need to get ready for a big weekend coming up."

UNLV will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to take on No. 37 Illinois Friday in what is the first round of the inaugural ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament. The winner of that match will take on the winner of host Stanford and Colorado on Saturday.
