LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's golf team travels to play in the Stanford Intercollegiate Championship, which gets underway Friday at the Stanford Golf Course and features one of the strongest fields in a fall tournament this season.
The Rebels are in a field that includes four of the top 10 teams in the nation according to Golfweek, including top-ranked USC, No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Arizona State and No. 7 Cal. In addition, No. 12 Oklahoma State, No. 15 Stanford, No. 18 Denver and No. 25 Vanderbilt are in the 15-team field.
UNLV head coach Missy Ringler will field a lineup of senior Natasha Krishna, juniors Alejandra Guacaneme and Therese Koelbaek, sophomore Bethany Glassford and freshman Ellis Keenan.
"We are always excited to play in this tournament," Ringler said. "It is such a great golf course and the field is extremely good. I feel we are prepared and ready to have a great showing this weekend."
This will be the fourth tournament of the fall for the Rebels, who posted a season-best third-place finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at the end of September. Koelbaek is pacing UNLV on the course with a scoring average of 74.22, which is tied for sixth in the Mountain West Conference.
Friday's first round is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m. (PT), and live scoring will be available courtesy of Golfstat with a link found on the schedule page at UNLVRebels.com.
