LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior leader Kristina Nedeltcheva will play in the semifinals of both singles and doubles after winning three times Friday during day three at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships at the Stacy Darling Tennis Center.

Ranked 90th in the nation and second in this tournament, Nedeltcheva eased past Denver's Ute Schnoy 6-2, 6-1 in the Round of 16. She also teamed with doubles partner Jana Albers to take care of Colorado State's Caitlin Fluegge and Laura Neal 8-2 before returning to the courts to get by Boise State's Rocio Frej and Marlena Pietzuch 8-6.

UNLV's other two doubles teams in the main draw were ousted in Friday's early round.

"Kristina had another great day," said UNLV head coach Kevin Cory. "She handled things really well in singles and also with Jana in the doubles. She has a lot of momentum going into the semifinals so we're looking forward to tomorrow."

In consolation play, Rumyana Terzieva notched two victories to stay alive in singles. The sophomore got by Colorado's Abbie Probert 7-6, 6-0 and then rallied past Montana's Rebecca Brown 2-6, 7-6, 7-6. Terzieva and doubles partner Ella Bouchier also remained alive by fighting off Aubrey Paul and Kaylyn Bristol of BYU 9-8 to end the day's action.

Wilson/ITA Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women are taking place this month at sites throughout the country. Both the singles and doubles champion from this event will earn spots in the November 5-8 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by Yale University in New Haven, Conn.
