PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - UNLV senior Kristina Nedeltcheva staged another upset win before finally ending her run later Tuesday in the qualifying draw at the annual Riviera All-American Tennis Championships.
Playing at the Riviera County Club, Nedeltcheva, ranked 90th nationally, upped her season record in singles to 6-1 by dominating 82nd-ranked Federica Seuss of Florida State 6-3, 6-1.
Playing the next round in the early evening, the Lady Rebel leader faced the draw's sixth seed, No. 29 Natasha Marks of Arizona. Nedeltcheva started strong and even had a set point in the first, but eventually lost 7-5, 6-3 to close her California stay.
Nedeltcheva will get a chance to remain hot in fall tournament play on Oct. 14 when the ITA Regional kicks off in Las Vegas at the Darling Tennis Center.
