The UNLV women's golf team is in 13th place after two rounds of play at the Wildcat Invitational on Monday, which is being played at the Peninsula Golf Club and hosted by Arizona.
The Rebels have a team score of 621 (311-310, +45) and are 12 strokes from moving into the top 10 of a field that features nine top-25 teams among the 17 that are playing, including four teams that are in the top 10 of Golfweek's latest rankings. Top-ranked UCLA remains in the lead as the Bruins have a team score of 582 (287-295, +6). Juliana Murcia of Arizona State and Pai Halbig of Cal share the individual lead into tomorrow's final round with 36-hole scores of 142 (-2).
UNLV is being led by the sophomore Alejandra Guacaneme, who has a two-round total of 151 (76-75, +7), which has her in a group that is tied for 28th. Rebel junior Natasha Krishna is next on the leaderboard, as she has a total of 155 (77-78, +11) and is in a group that is tied for 45th. One stroke behind Krishna is sophomore Therese Koelbaek, who is tied for 50th with a score of 156 (76-80, +12).
Rebel freshman Kristen Schelling is tied for 65th with a score of 159 (82-77, +15) and junior Melissa Mabanta is 88th with a score of 176 (88-88, +32).
Tuesday's final round is a shot gun start that gets underway at 7:00 a.m. (PT).
