LAS VEGAS - Supplying more evidence of a breakout season after elevating to the top spot in the UNLV lineup, Kristina Nedeltcheva won her second Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor on Wednesday.
Nedeltcheva, who earned her first such award last month, was a combined 6-0 at the No. 1 spot in singles and in doubles over the weekend as UNLV swept Illinois State, Utah State and UC Riverside all by the score of 7-0.
Ranked 117th in the nation, the junior from Sofia, Bulgaria, improved her record to 12-3 in singles and 11-3 in doubles along with partner Katy Williams.
Nedeltcheva is in seventh place on the UNLV all-time list for doubles wins with 59 and solidified her record-setting career doubles winning percentage at the school with .766.
TCU's Kriegler Brink was named this week's men's player of the week. The Lady Rebels hit the road this week to take on Pepperdine in Malibu on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Their next home match is March 6 vs. Boise State starting at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches at the Fertitta Tennis Complex is free of charge.
