LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's tennis team ran into a surging South Carolina squad and lost 7-0 on Wednesday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels fell to 7-5 overall and 7-2 at home the season while the 22nd-ranked Gamecocks improved to 7-4.
USC began the match by taking all three doubles matchups for one team point.
In singles, UNLV pushed two matches into a super-tiebreaker but lost both. Senior Katy Williams played an extremely close match against Dijana Stojic but fell 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9) at the third spot. On court five, Adrienn Hidvegi was downed by Miljana Jocic 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Next up for UNLV is a home match vs. Virginia Commonwealth on Friday starting with doubles at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
