LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's golf team continues its spring season this week, hosting the UNLV Spring Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., a three-day tournament that gets underway on Monday.

The Rebels, who will field two teams in the event, are part of a 17-team field that includes 10th-ranked Georgia and 23rd-ranked Kent State that will play in the 54-hole tournament on the par-72, 6,234-yard course. BYU and Washington State shared the team title at the 2008 event with scores of five-under 859, and Cathryn Bristow of Oregon earned medalist honors with an eight-under 208.

UNLV's top team will be a lineup that consists of Therese Koelbaek, Alejandra Guacaneme, Natasha Krishna, Bethany Glassford and Kristen Schelling, while Nicole McGirr, Melissa Mabanta, Kasi Lee, Victoria Oros and Stephanie Whatley make up the second five.

The last time a tournament was played on the Boulder Creek Course, several NCAA records were broken at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown last fall. Pepperdine ran away with the team title, setting the NCAA record with a team score of 41-under 823 that featured four players finish the tournament at six-below par or better. Leading the way for the Waves was Lisa McCloskey, who set the NCAA individual record with a 17-under 199, as she turned in rounds of 67 (-5), 65 (-7) and 65 (-5).

Tomorrow's first round gets underway with teams teeing off on holes 1 and 10 at 7:30 a.m. (PT), and fans can follow the tournament live at www.unlvrebels.com.
