LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's golf released its 2009-10 schedule and three home tournaments highlight the slate, which includes five fall and four spring tournaments for the Rebels, head coach Missy Ringler announced Wednesday.

"We are very excited about the schedule for next season, the fact that we get to play three great tournaments in the Las Vegas area is tremendous," Ringler said. "There is no doubt that we get to compete in some of the best tournaments around the country."

The Rebels open the season at home for the first time in program history, competing in the inaugural GolfWeek Conference Challenge, which will be played at the Primm Golf Club and will feature a team from every conference in the country. UNLV will then head to the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. on Sept. 19-20 and then travel to the Windy City Collegiate Classic on Oct. 5-6 in Chicago, Ill. The Rebels will then play at the Stanford Fall Intercollegiate on Oct. 16-18 before closing out their fall slate with the eighth-annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, which once again will be played at Boulder Creek Golf Club on Oct. 26-28.

UNLV opens its spring schedule by traveling to the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 22-23 and then it will head to the Pepperdine Invitational on March 1-3. The Rebels will play their final home tournament of the year, the sixth-annual UNLV Spring Invitational, on March 8-10 at Boulder Creek Golf Club and then they will travel to the Mountain View Collegiate on March 26-27 in Tucson, Ariz.

The MWC Championships will also be held at the Fort Ord Golf Course in Monterey, Calif., once again this year, with the league tournament scheduled for April 15-17. The NCAA Regional tournaments are set for May 6-8 while the NCAA Championships are May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
