Kids Club Launched

July 15, 2009

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Athletics Department has launched the Rebel Kids Club, sponsored by Rapport Leadership International and NSR Business Solutions. Associate sponsors include Verizon Wireless, Jason's Deli, The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Meadow Gold, Baja Fresh and Trader Joe's.

The program offers young Rebel fans exclusive benefits and opportunities including free admission to all UNLV Athletics events and the opportunity to purchase up to four half-priced tickets (some exceptions do apply), free admission to exclusive Rebel Kids Day events, and a premier package that includes: official club T-shirt, membership card, e-newsletters, e-birthday card from Hey Reb, experiential UNLV Athletics benefits and free admission to the Official UNLV Rebel Kids Club Kick-Off Party.

Kids Club members will also enjoy a wide array of benefits and experiences including meet and greet opportunities with UNLV student-athletes and coaches, as well as photograph and autograph sessions. Kids Club members will also spend time with UNLV's beloved Hey Reb mascot, the UNLV Cheerleaders and the Rebel Girls.

Before select games, UNLV Cheerleaders will conduct specially guided tours of UNLV's athletics facilities, such as Sam Boyd Stadium and the Thomas & Mack Center. Rebel Kids Club members will be invited to watch pregame warm-ups for select games and receive an opportunity to be named "Honorary Captain." Honorary Captains will sit on the bench and be a part of team announcements. Other tours include the Lied Athletic Center where the student-athlete weight room and football locker rooms are located.

On Rebel Kids Days, members will gain early access to UNLV games and experience a carnival-like atmosphere with numerous activities including moon bounces, face painting, music, games and mascot competitions. A Kids Cam will be set up at the football and men's basketball games, and young UNLV fans will be shown on the large screens during timeouts.

Rebel Kids Club members will be invited to participate in promotions on the court as well, such as the McDonald's Dress and Drive and dance-offs with Hey Reb. Club members will receive opportunities to watch practices for all UNLV Athletics teams. For instance, during an event planned for football season, members will watch a practice, speak with Coach Sanford, and participate in a pickup game with players.

A UNLV Rebel Kids Club Kick-Off Party is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 at 2 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion. The Club is open to children in the eighth grade or below at an annual fee of $30.
