Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Results
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 18 UNLV women's golf team tied for third place and Therese Koelbaek was in the top 10 individually for the Rebels on Sunday at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational which was held at the UNM Championship Course.
The Rebels posted a team score of 883 (291-292-883, +7), and they were paced by Koelbaek, who tied for ninth with a 54-hole total of 2-under 217. Koelbaek shot a closing-round 75 (+3), which followed sub-par rounds on Saturday, when 36 holes were played.
"Overall it was a bit of struggle today and we couldn't we get birdies to fall," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. "We are pleased to finish in the top three and Therese had a good tournament, finishing tied for ninth."
UNLV freshman Ellis Keenan was just outside the top 20, finishing tied for 22nd with a 4-over 223 (74-74-75, +4), and sophomore Kristen Schelling was one stroke behind and tied for 24th with a 224 (74-71-79, +5). Rebel senior Natasha Krishna (73-78-74--225, +6) tied for 29th and junior Alejandra Guacaneme (75-75-76--226, +7) tied for 35th. UNLV also had two individuals play in the tournament, as sophomore Bethany Glassford tied for 58th with a 230 (73-76-81, +11) and junior transfer Mandi Incorvaia tied for 93rd with a 243 (84-81-78, +24).
No. 12 Pepperdine ran away with team honors with a 17-under 859, 10-strokes better than No. 21 New Mexico. Kendra Little of Oregon took home medalist honors with a 12-under 207, one shot better than Jodi Ewart of the host Lobos.
The tournament capped a busy week for the Rebels, who opened their season earlier in the week at Golfweek's Conference Challenge, which was played Primm, Nev. UNLV's next tournament is the Windy City Collegiate, which is Oct. 5-6.
