LAS VEGAS - The 41st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team closed out a doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Weber State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels improved to 3-0 while the Wildcats fell to 0-3.
UNLV began by taking all three doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead.
In singles, only one Lady Rebel allowed their opponent to win more than two games in any set.
No. 50 Kristina Nedeltcheva downed Keya Jenkins 6-1, 6-2 at the top of the lineup; Nives Pavlovic won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2; No. 44 Jana Albers blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3; as did Adrienn Hidvegi at No. 4; Rumyana Terzieva won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5; and Ella Bourchier, making her dual-match debut, won by the same score on court six.
Next up for UNLV is the second annual ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament, which will pit the Lady Rebels against 12th-ranked UCLA on Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
