Oct. 19, 2010

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Single game tickets for the upcoming 2010-11 UNLV men's basketball season will go on sale this Friday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 739-FANS, online at UNLVTickets.com, at all Station Casinos, at Town Square Las Vegas, or at the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office.

The Runnin' Rebels are returning five starters and seven key players from a team that went 25-9 a season ago and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four years.

Tickets will go on sale for two exhibition and 14 regular-season games at the Thomas & Mack Center. Fans will save money this season when purchasing Runnin' Rebel tickets in advance of the day of games.

UNLV's home schedule features five teams that played in last season's NCAA Tournament - Wisconsin (Nov. 20), UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 15), BYU (Jan. 5), New Mexico (Jan. 22) and San Diego State (Feb. 12).

The Runnin' Rebels will open up play at the Thomas & Mack Center on Tuesday, Nov. 2, against Grand Canyon and Tuesday, Nov. 9, against Washburn (exhibition games). Tickets for those two contests start as low as $8 in the balcony. Tickets for nearly all regular-season non-conference games begin at $10 in the balcony, while they start at $12 for nearly all conference games.

Some additional promotional highlights from the season include: Opening Night on Friday, Nov. 12 vs. UC Riverside (doubleheader with women's basketball); the popular Kids' Day promotion on Saturday, Jan. 22 vs. New Mexico (pregame Kids' Festival plus $5 balcony tickets for children between the ages of 3-12, with a paying adult - restrictions apply); and the annual Senior Night White Out vs. Wyoming on Feb. 26 (tickets starting at $10 for adult and $5 for children - restrictions apply).

A mid-November on-sale date will be determined at a later time for the Dec. 8 game at The Orleans Arena against Boise State.

UNLV head coach Lon Kruger is entering his seventh season with the Runnin' Rebels and has a six-year record of 137-62 (.688), however since the start of the 2006-07 season, the team has turned in a mark of 103-35 (.746).

UNLV grew to No. 18 in the nation in home attendance last season, including being No. 1 on the West Coast. The squad has won 20-plus games in each of the past four seasons, 25 or more in three of the last four, and 100-plus games over that span, all for the first time since the 1989-93 seasons for the program. In fact, UNLV is just one of five teams in the West to have won 100-plus games since 2006-07.

Season tickets are currently on sale in donor and non-donor seating areas and are available by calling 739-FANS, visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office or by going online to UNLVTickets.com.
