Batta Still Battling At Riviera

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's tennis freshman Lucia Batta won twice Saturday in prequalifying to stay alive in the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. Batta downed Elizabeth Kilborn of Georgia Tech in the first round and then swept Florida's Clare Bartlett, 6-1, 6-4.

Felllow-rookie Aleksandra Josifoska won her first-round match over Jenna Frisell of Central Florida before falling to Marianne Jodin of Fresno State 6-0, 6-2.

The elite tournament runs through Oct. 10 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
