Freshman Stays Perfect

Oct. 3, 2010

PACIFIC PALISADES (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV freshman Lucia Batta has yet to lose even a set in college as she won another match at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships on Sunday.

Advancing through prequalifying, Batta swept 11th-seeded Kaitlyn Christian of USC 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 6-0 as a Lady Rebel -- all in straight sets.

Batta will next play in the qualifying draw, which starts Tuesday, and be joined by teammate Jana Albers, who is ranked 72nd nationally. Batta and fellow-freshman Aleksandra Josifoska will also play together in doubles at the event, which runs through Oct. 10.
