LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Host UNLV saw its top player eliminated in singles but the Rebels are still guaranteed two titles after Saturday's action at the newly renamed Larry Easley Memorial Classic, which is being played at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

In Flight One of singles, 103rd-ranked Mehdi Bouras fell to Auburn's Alex Stamchev in three sets, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. However, in an all-UNLV semifinals round in Flight Two, Alex Bull defeated Charlie Alvarado 7-5, 6-1 and Rene Ruegamer ousted Bernard Schoeman 6-4, 6-2. Bull will take on Alvarado for the championship starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. Admission to all matches is free of charge.

The Rebels also will earn the doubles crown, with the championship scheduled for 9 a.m. Bouras and Schoeman downed Drew Jacobs and Sebastian Bell of Cal Poly 8-5 and then got by David Humphreys and Borja Malo of Arizona by the same score in the semifinals. They will face teammates Bull and Ruegamer, who outlasted Auburn's Stamchev and Michael Wardell and then downed Cal Poly's Jordan Bridge and Jugen Dejager 8-5 to move on.

"This was a solid day for us," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "It's big to have two teams getting into the doubles final and both finalists in Flight Two singles."
