Rebels Say Aloha To 2010 Season

Dec. 4, 2010

Final Stats

HONOLULU (AP) - - Bryant Moniz threw for 380 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two more scores to help No. 25 Hawaii defeat UNLV 59-21 on Saturday night.

Alex Green ran for 136 yards and a touchdown for Hawaii (10-3).

Moniz completed 29 of 43 passes, including a 54-yard scoring strike to Greg Salas.

Kealoha Pilares had nine receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors.

The Rebels' Omar Clayton was 14 of 25 for 182 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions.

After relying on passes for much of the game, Hawaii opened up the running game in the second half by handing the ball to Green, who had more than 100 yards for the fourth time this season. Green's yardage didn't meet last week's 327, which made him the first Warriors back to break 1,000 yards in a season since 1992.

Salas caught two touchdown passes and had five receptions for 94 yards. But he fell three catches short of breaking Davone Bess' single-season record of 108 receptions set in 2007.

UNLV scored early when Clayton threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Michael Johnson. Clayton also completed a 9-yard fourth-quarter TD pass to Phillip Payne. The game was Clayton's 40th at quarterback, a school record.

The 13-game regular season was UNLV's longest in school history.

Moniz's 380-yard night boosted his nation-leading passing numbers. He entered the game averaging 354.1.
