LAS VEGAS - The 39th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team took to the courts for the first time this month and shut out UC Riverside 7-0 in the first half of a scheduled doubleheader Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels improved to 4-2 while the Highlanders fell to 0-4.
UNLV began the morning by taking all three doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead.
The hosts did not lose even a set in singles play.
No. 50 Kristina Nedeltcheva downed Nadia Sakhakorn 6-3, 6-1 at the top of the lineup; Nives Pavlovic won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; No. 44 Jana Albers blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3; Adrienn Hidvegi won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4; Anna Maskaljun won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5; and Rumyana Terzieva whitewashed her opponent on court six.
The Lady Rebels will complete the doubleheader with a match vs. Utah State Friday afternoon.
