LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's golf team gets its spring season underway this week, traveling to Tucson, Ariz., for the 2010 Wildcat Invitational, which will be played at the Arizona National Golf Club.
Rebel head coach Missy Ringler will field a lineup of Therese Koelbaek, Natasha Krishna, Alejandra Guacaneme, Kristen Schelling and Mandi Incorvaia, while Bethany Glassford will be playing as an individual.
"We are excited for the spring to start," Ringler said. "We have a tough task ahead of us this week. This is one of the strongest fields we will see outside of a regional."
The field that Ringler is talking about is comprised of 16 teams that include 11 squads that are currently ranked in Golfweek's latest top-25 poll. Top-ranked Arizona State headlines the field, which also features No. 3 Auburn, No. 5 USC, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 8 Duke and No. 9 Pepperdine.
Following a practice round on Sunday, the teams will play 36 holes on Monday with players getting their rounds started at 7:00 a.m. (PT) on the par-71, 6,146-yard course. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a 7:00 a.m. shotgun start.
