Bruin Wave Invitational Results

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -

The UNLV women's golf team remained in the top 10 following Tuesday's second round at the Bruin Wave Invitational, as the Rebels have a team score of 595 (294-301, +19) at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita, Calif.

UNLV is tied for eighth heading into the final round and the team is being led by junior Therese Koelbaek, who is tied for fifth with a 36-hole score of 1-under 143. She carded a second-round 1-over 73 on the day, rolling in three birdies against four bogies, and it was her second straight solid round after opening with a 2-under 70 on Monday.

UNLV senior Natasha Krishna is just outside the top 20, as she has a total of 149 (72-77, +5) which has her in a group that is tied for 26th. Rebel sophomore Kristen Schelling also turned in a fine second round with a 1-over 73, which has her tied for 30th with a total of 150 (77-73, +6).

Mandi Incorvaia is tied for 59th with a score of 155 (77-78, +11) and Alejandra Guacaneme is tied for 61st with a score of 156 (75-81, +12) to round out the Rebel scorecard. Also on the course for UNLV is Bethany Glassford, who is playing as an individual and is tied for 54th with a score of 154 (73-81, +10).

"Conditions were a bit tougher out there today," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. "I was very happy with the performances of Therese and Kristen. We are encouraged by our play here and we are looking forward to moving up tomorrow. A good final round can get us moved up on the leaderboard and really help our current ranking."

No. 2 UCLA has the team lead heading into tomorrow's final round with a score of even-par 576, which is four strokes ahead of No. 7 Pepperdine and No. 9 USC. Stephanie Kono of UCLA used a 4-under 68 today to vault to the top of the leaderboard, giving her a two-round total of 6-under 138, one shot better than Danielle Kang of Pepperdine. UNLV is part of an 18-team field that features seven teams in the latest Golfweek top-25 poll, including top-ranked Arizona State, No. 2 UCLA, No. 7 Pepperdine, No. 9 USC and No. 10 Arizona.

Wednesday's final round begins at 7:30 a.m. (PT), with teams teeing off of holes No. 1 and No. 10 on the par-72, 6,282-yard course.
