Final Stats

FULLERTON, Calif. - After a scoreless first inning, Arizona State jumped on the board first with help from two walks, a single and an illegal offering issued by Kylie Wagner (6-3). Mandy Urfer, who was the second of four walked in the inning, scored the game's first run.

The Sun Devils added five more to the scoreboard in the third highlighted by a grand slam to right center by Caylyn Carlson. With the bases loaded following a fielder's choice and two walks, Katie Crabb hit a grounder to short that Jaci Hull misplayed and allowed Annie Lockwood to score the stanza's first run. Carlson then stepped up with the bases juiced for her home-run heroics, which ended Wagner's stint in the circle and summoned Traci Odegard in on relief.

ASU added a seventh run in the fourth when Katelyn Boyd came in after initially reaching on a hit-by-pitch.

Boyd ended the game in the fifth with a three-run blast to right that put the eight-run rule into effect.

Wagner was saddled with the loss in 2.2 innings of her start. She gave up six runs (one earned) on four hits. She walked six and struck out one.

Odegard threw the final two innings of relief and was touched for four runs on three hits with one walk.

Hillary Bach improved to 13-1 in a five-inning, complete-game effort. Bach only allowed two hits, while facing 16.

Paige Emerson and Laura Briones connected for UNLV's two hits on the day. Emerson was the lone Rebel left on base following a first-inning double.

UNLV is back in action Sunday afternoon (3:45 pm) with a contest against the DePaul Blue Demons.
