LOOKING BACK A WEEK: The UNLV Rebels only played once last week with a 4-0 Mountain West Conference loss to the San Diego State Aztecs in Las Vegas.
The Aztecs jumped out early with a quick score in the first, but the game became turned into a pitchers' duel between UNLV's Traci Odegard and SDSU's Samantha Beasley the following four innings. Unfortunately, Odegard was touched for three runs in the final two frames to give the Aztecs the shut out victory.
Five Rebels notched hits in the game with Marissa Nichols, Jaci Hull and Ashli Holland extending their current hitting streaks to five or more games. Nichols leads the trio with an eight-game run, while Hull and Holland are both at five.
Odegard tossed six innings of work in the loss, which dropped her to 5-6 on the year. She was touched for four runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
