The UNLV women's golf finished 16th after Saturday's final round at the 2010 NCAA West Regional, which was being played at the Stanford Golf Course, and the top eight teams advanced to the NCAA Championships.

The Rebels posted a third-round score of 33-over 317 for a total of 918 (+66), a tough finish after leading for a majority of the first round and being in contention heading into the final round. No. 3 Arizona won the team title with an 876 (+24), good for a nine-stroke victory over No. 1 UCLA. Calle Nielson of Virginia and Madeleine Ziegert of San Jose State shared medalist honors, as each shot a 1-over 214.

Therese Koelbaek was the top Rebel on the leader board, finishing tied for 20th with a 223 (77-73-73, +10), as she carded her second straight 2-over 73 on Saturday. Fellow junior Alejandra Guacaneme was next, as she was in a group that tied for 27th with a 224 (71-74-79, +11).

UNLV sophomore Kristen Schelling (71-77-83--231) finished tied for 60th, senior Natasha Krishna (76-86-82--244) came in 110th and junior Mandi Incorvaia (84-82-82--249) finished 117th.

UNLV was one of a MWC-record five teams that earned a spot in one of the three regional tournaments, and the Rebels were joined in Stanford by fellow league member Colorado State. Top-ranked UCLA highlighted the field, while No. 2 Arizona State, No. 3 Arizona, No. 6 Alabama, No. 11 Virginia, No. 17 Stanford and No. 23 Ohio State were also teams that were in Golfweek's latest rankings at the regional.

The top eight teams and top two individuals not on qualifying teams from each regional advanced to the NCAA Championships, to be held May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall and will be hosted by the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
