LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team is set to resume fall tournament action this week, hosting the 10th Annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Boulder Creek Golf Club will play home to the annual tournament, starting Monday, Oct. 24 and continuing through Wednesday, Oct. 26. The par-72 course will play at 6,329 yards this week.
"We're excited to get back into action and to be at home," said head coach Amy Bush. "We have had a couple of weeks to get some great practice rounds in and are eager to get on our home course with great weather this week."
The field of 17 teams includes five ranked in Golfweek's latest top 50 rankings, including UC Davis (24th), San Diego State (31st), Oklahoma (32nd), Pepperdine (41st) and East Carolina (47th). In addition to host UNLV, the tournament field is rounded out by Louisville, Colorado State, Idaho, Miami, Long Beach State, Fresno State, Missouri, UC Irvine, BYU and Nevada, Reno.
UNLV's lineup will consist of freshmen Mayko Chwen-Wang, Dana Finkelstein, sophomores Katerina Prorokova, Charlotte Brooks and junior Ellis Keenan. Competing as individuals in the field will be freshman Marguerite Swearingen and Bethany Calvo.
Calvo and Swearingen will kick off action for the Rebels with tee times at 7:38 a.m. and 7:46 a.m. respectively with the team slotted to get underway at 8:10 a.m..
