LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com)
- Despite unfavorable final round conditions, the UNLV women's golf team maintained a consistent performance in the final round at the 10th Annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, finishing in a three-way tie for fifth place overall.

The Rebels earned their highest finish of the fall season, tying with UC Irvine and Louisville after carding a final round team total of +25, 313. UNLV finished the three-day tournament at +27, 891.

"I am proud of our girls for their play this week," said head coach Amy Bush. "From Dana picking up her first of hopefully many top-10 career finishes to having others put up season-low rounds this week, we are happy to earn our first top five of the year at home."

Freshman Dana Finkelstein entered the final round tied for 10th and climbed two spots up the board following her final round 77. The final round's top score was even par, attesting to the windy conditions at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Fellow freshman Mayko Chwen Wang climbed 11 spots to finish in a tie for 20th place following her 4-over par round of 76, the lowest of the UNLV starting five.

Sophomore Katerina Prorokova slipped a bit after two solid rounds that featured just one bogey. Despite shooting a final round of 12-over par, Prorokova was able to clinch a tie for 26th place at +9 for the tournament.

UC Davis ran away with the team title, besting second place San Diego State and Pepperdine by 15 strokes. Oklahoma finished fourth at 26-over par while UNLV, Louisville and UC Irvine tied for fifth at +27.

Pepperdine's Grace Na carded a final round 74 to hold on for medalist honors, beating out Kayle Mortellaro (Idaho) by two strokes. Teammates Jessica Chulya and Bev Vatananugulkit of the champion Aggies finished third and fourth respectively while Noelle Zavaleta (Long Beach State) rounded out the top five.

The Rebels will have a quick turnaround, leaving Saturday morning for Austin, Texas where they will compete in the Betsy Rawls Invitational starting Oct. 31, closing out their fall season in the process.
