Day 2 Results
SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team continued action at the 30th Edean Ihlandfeldt Invitational held at the Sahalee Country Club in Seattle, Wash., finishing the second round in ninth place over all with a two-day total of 623 (+47).
Colorado and California are tied for the lead at 595 (+19) while Oregon is just a stroke back in third with host Washington in fourth at +21 and Oregon State in fifth at +35.
Mayko Chwen Wang continues to lead the Rebels, entering the final round in a tie for 26th place after a second round finish of 8-over par. Fellow freshman Dana Finkelstein climbed four spots up the leader board following a +4, 76 in today's round.
Marguerite Swearingen stands in a tie for 37th after shooting a 6-over 78 while sophomore Katerina Prorokova is tied for 45th after a 9-over par round. Charlotte Brooks rounds out the UNLV starting lineup in a tie for 51st place, moving ahead six spots on the board after shaving seven strokes off her first round total of 85.
Jennifer Yang (Washington) and Cassy Isagawa (Oregon) are tied for first and the only two players in the field under par for the tournament. Alex Stewart (Colorado) is in third at +1 while Joanne Lee (California) is a stroke back in fourth and Madeleine Sheils (Nebraska) in fifth at 3-over.
The field of 12 teams includes four ranked in the nation's top 50, including No. 15 Cal, No. 17 and host Washington, No. 23 Colorado and No. 34 Oregon. BYU, Gonzaga, Idaho, Nebraska, Oregon State, San Jose State and Washington State round out the tournament field.
Action will conclude Wednesday morning with an 8 a.m. PT starting time.
The par-72, 6,063 yard course has played host to many prestigious throughout the years, including the 2010 U.S. Senior Open, 2002 NEC World Championship and 1998 PGA Championship.
