AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com)
- The UNLV women's golf team concluded action today in the second round of the 38th Annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in sixth place after carding a team score of +14 (302).

"We had some tough conditions out there today with the wind playing a big factor in the round," said head coach Amy Bush. "Our girls were able to keep the mistakes to a minimum, allowing us to remain in contention entering the final day. We know we have to go out there and play smart and aggressively to end our fall season on a high note."

Sophomore transfer Charlotte Brooks continues her stellar play as of late, carding a second-round 73 to put her at +1 for the tournament and tied for sixth in a field 81. Brooks jumped out to 2-under after birdies at the first and third before making a bogey at the par-4 sixth. A third birdie on the front nine pushed her back to 2-under before bogies at the 10th, 11th and 18th rounded out her day.

Freshman Dana Fineklstein turned in a round of 75 that included birdies on two of the final five holes on the back nine. Finkelstein moved up three slots on the day and enters the final round tied for 23rd.

Fellow freshman Mayko Chwen Wang's second round 78 leaves her in a tie for 38th overall while senior Bethany Calvo moved up 12 spots after firing a 4-over 76, standing tied for 55th. Sophomore Katerina Prorokova is tied with Calvo after a second round 82.

Host and 20th-ranked Texas' second-round low of +5 as a team pushed them into first place, eight strokes ahead of second place No. 12 Florida. No. 37 Tulsa (+18) is in third while No. 7 Oklahoma State (+19) and Pepperdine (+20) round out the top five.

Mia Piccio (Florida) leads the field at 3-under for the tournament while Madison Pressel (Texas) is close behind at 1-under. Three players are tied at even par while Brooks leads a pack of five players at 1-over heading into the final day.

Action from the final round will kick off at 7:45 a.m. PT with a shot gun start.
