LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team has moved up six spots to No. 13 in the final Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches' Poll, which was released by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The Rebels are ranked in the top 16 in each poll (15th in Golfweek's rankings and 16th by Golfstat).
UNLV won three of the four tournaments it competed in during the fall season: the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Sept. 19, the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., on Oct. 1, and the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., on Oct. 25. It marked the first time in program history that the Rebels won three events during the fall.
Texas is the nation's top-ranked team in the Coaches' Poll, followed by Oregon, Arkansas, Auburn and UCLA to round out the top five. Stanford is sixth, followed by North Florida, Washington, Alabama and Georgia Tech. California is 11th, and USC is 12th. The complete rankings may be viewed by clicking here.
UNLV will open its spring season in February at the at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii.
