LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - After starting the season 8-0, including wins against UNR, USC, then-No. 1 North Carolina and at UC Santa Barbara, the UNLV men's basketball team lost its first game of the year - at Wichita State (89-70) on Sunday. The Runnin' Rebels were ranked 18th in the country by the Associated Press and were 20th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll last week, but fell out of this week's top 25 as the Runnin' Rebels are now the top team in the "others receiving votes" category in both polls. UNLV will return to playing in Las Vegas this week as it will host Cal State San Marcos on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Orleans Arena at 7 p.m. The game is being played there because the Thomas & Mack Center is not available (hosting the National Finals Rodeo). As of Monday, approximately 2,000 tickets remained available for Wednesday's game at the Orleans. All tickets are $10 prior to the day of the game and are $15 if purchased on Wednesday. Tickets are only available through the Orleans Arena by calling (702) 284-7777, by visiting www.OrleansArena.com or at the Orleans Arena box office. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM. The radio broadcast is also available at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature, while Gametracker and a live video feed of this game will be provided for free on the website.
