Runnin' Rebels Host Boise State Tuesday Night

UNLV returns home for the first time in 10 days, where it has won four straight; 8 p.m. game to be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team looks to get back in the win column as it returns to the Thomas & Mack Center for the first time in 10 days to host Boise State on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 8 p.m.

The Runnin' Rebels (7-8, 2-2) are coming off a two-game road trip: losses at Wyoming on Tuesday and at Colorado State on Friday.

UNLV won each of its first two Mountain West games of the season over Fresno State and Air Force, both at home. The Runnin' Rebels enter Tuesday's game on a four-game home win streak.

For the season, the Runnin' Rebels are averaging 78.5 points per game and have four players averaging double figures in scoring: Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn (16.2), Kimani Hamilton (12.4 ppg), Tyrin Jones (10.9 ppg), and Issac Williamson (10.8 ppg). Howie Fleming Jr. leads the team in rebounds at 5.9 rpg and assists with 2.9 apg. Gibbs-Lawhorn is the team's steals leader at 1.7 spg, while Jones leads the MW in blocks at 2.1 bpg. Jones is one of only nine Division I players this season to be averaging at least 10.0 points and 2.0 blocks per game, while shooting 60% or better from the field.

The Runnin' Rebels are in their first year under head coach Josh Pastner. Although new to UNLV, he is in his 15th year as a collegiate head coach, having previously led Memphis and Georgia Tech for seven seasons each. He holds a career record of 283-195 (.592).

UNLV's roster has only one returning player, Jacob Bannarbie, and has welcomed 13 new faces. The newcomers include eight Division I transfers, a former international professional, a junior college transfer, and three freshmen.

MORE ABOUT THE ROSTER: This season's UNLV squad, which has had to deal with a rash of injuries, returned just one player from 2024-25: redshirt sophomore forward Jacob Bannarbie. The 2025-26 roster added 13 newcomers - eight Division I transfers, a former international professional, a junior college transfer, and three freshmen. The team features four seniors, three juniors, three sophomores, and three freshmen, with a position breakdown of seven guards, six forwards, and a center. Last season, Bannarbie appeared in 19 games (three starts), averaging 1.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 6.6 minutes, and shooting 52.9% from the field on 17 attempts.

ABOUT BOISE STATE: The Broncos (9-7, 1-4) come to Las Vegas having lost three straight and four of their last five. The three-game losing streak consists of setbacks at San Diego State (110-107 in 3OT) and home games vs. Grand Canyon (75-58) and Utah State (93-68). Boise State is led in scoring by Drew Fielder (12.7 ppg) and Andrew Meadow (12.3). Dominic Parolin and Fielder are the team's leading rebounders with 5.1 rpg and 5.0 rpg, respectively, while Dylan Andrews leads in assists at 3.5 apg. The Broncos are 1-2 in true road games this season. Boise State ranks 48th in the nation in rebound margin at 6.6. The Broncos were picked to finish third in the Mountain West's preseason poll. Meadow was named to the Preseason All-MW team. Boise State's 15-man roster is made up of eight upperclassmen. The Broncos went 26-11 overall last season, finishing tied for fourth in the MW at 14-6. They played in the College Basketball Crown, advancing to the semifinals. Head coach Leon Rice is in his 16th season as a collegiate head coach, all with Boise State, with a career record of 325-184 (.639).
