Moustapha Loum To Join Men's Basketball Program

6-foot-10-inch forward originally from Dakar, Senegal, comes to the Runnin' Rebels as a transfer from Northwestern State.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed commitment from Moustapha Loum to join the Runnin' Rebels for the 2026-27 season, head coach Josh Pastner announced Monday.

Loum, a 6-foot-10-inch, 220-pound forward originally from Dakar, Senegal, is transferring to UNLV from Northwestern State, where he played as a sophomore during the 2025-26 season. Prior to that, he was at Frank Phillips College as a freshman in 2024-25.

"Moustapha brings size, athleticism, and a high motor to our frontcourt," Pastner said. "He is a physical presence in the low post, rebounds the ball well and can protect the rim. Offensively, he gives us a lob threat and runs the floor hard, which allows him to finish in transition. We are excited about him joining the Runnin' Rebel family."

Loum played in 21 games for NSU, making four starts. He ranked sixth in the Southland Conference in block rate (blocks per 40 minutes) at 2.2 and ranked seventh in the league in field goal percentage at 60.7%. He posted career highs of 13 rebounds and eight points in a game in December.

At Frank Phillips College, he appeared in 33 games and made 13 starts. He averaged 4.7 points and 3.5 rebounds, scoring a career-high 19 points against Murray State. He finished the season shooting 55% from the field.

Loum is a 2024 graduate of Putnam High School in Eatonton, Georgia.
