Terrance Ford Jr. To Join Men's Basketball Program

6-foot-1-inch guard to transfer to the Runnin' Rebels from Tulsa.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed commitment from Terrance Ford Jr. to join the Runnin' Rebels for the 2026-27 season, head coach Josh Pastner announced Thursday.

Ford Jr, a 6-foot-1-inch, 180-pound guard originally from Chicago, is transferring from Tulsa, where he was a member of the program for the past season. Before that, he was at Arkansas State for three years.

He didn't play during the 2025-26 season because of injury. As a redshirt sophomore in 2024-25 for the Red Wolves, Ford Jr. earned Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team honors after leading the conference during the season in assist/turnover ratio (2.3) and total assists (170). In 35 games with 31 starts that season, he averaged 9.0 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. In addition, he shot a team-leading 40.4% on 3-pointers.

"Terrance is a true floor general and a pure point guard who makes everyone around him better," Pastner said. "He can create shots for himself and his teammates, and he's at his best in the open court, where he puts constant pressure on the paint and generates great looks. He's a proven high-level 3-point shooter, and he's a tough, physical defender who really pressures the ball with active hands. We are excited about the impact he is going to have on our program."

He had 14 games with 10 or more points, including two with more than 20 points, and had three games with 10 or more assists during the 2024-25 season. His best game was when he scored a season-high 21 points at Old Dominion, shooting 9 of 10 from the floor, including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers, along with five assists without a turnover.

As a sophomore in 2023-24, he appeared in just two games because of injury, and in 2022-23 as a freshman, he played in 32 games with 15 starts, shooting a team-leading 40.6% on 3-pointers. He averaged 10.8 ppg that season, with 2.5 rpg and a team-high 1.3 spg.

Ford Jr. led his team at Chicago's Leo High School in 2020-21 to the sectional championship game. He averaged 16.3 ppg, 5.4 apg, and 2.1 spg that season. He also played at Victory Rock Prep in Sarasota, Florida, before going to college.

Ford Jr. joins Cam Miles and MJ Thomas as incoming players to the Runnin' Rebel program for the 2026-27 season.

COMMITTED RETURNING REBELS: Tyrin Jones and Issac Williamson have both committed to return to the program in 2026-27 after playing as freshmen in 2025-26. Jones was selected to the Mountain West's All-Defensive Team and earned honorable mention All-MW honors. He averaged 11.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while leading the league in blocks with 2.2 per contest. Williamson scored 8.6 points per game.

PASTNER ENTERING SECOND SEASON: The 2026-27 campaign will be the second for Josh Pastner as head coach of the Runnin' Rebels. He led the program to the postseason in his first year at the helm, advancing to the second round of the NIT.
