LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed commitment from Kota Suttle to join the Runnin' Rebels for the 2026-27 season, head coach Josh Pastner announced Friday.
Suttle, a 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound guard originally from Atlanta, played this past season as a senior at Southern California Academy. Previously, he attended nationally-ranked Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia.
"Kota is a dynamic two-way guard whose quickness and toughness immediately stand out," Pastner said. "He has the ability to live in the paint, finish at the rim, and create opportunities for both himself and his teammates. Defensively, he is elite on the ball and brings the kind of competitive edge that impacts winning in multiple ways."
A four-star recruit, he competed on the elite Grind Session circuit and also spent time playing on the Nike EYBL circuit with Tennessee-based Team Thad. He is ranked the No. 29 combo guard in the country and the No. 24 overall player in California.
Suttle joins
Terrance Ford Jr., Jeremy Foumena, Tyler Harris, Jackson Kiss, Cam Miles, MJ Thomas, and
Dontrez Williams as incoming players to the Runnin' Rebel program for the 2026-27 season.
COMMITTED RETURNING REBELS: Tyrin Jones and
Issac Williamson have both committed to return to the program in 2026-27 after playing as freshmen in 2025-26. Jones was selected to the Mountain West's All-Defensive Team and earned honorable mention All-MW honors. He averaged 11.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while leading the league in blocks with 2.2 per contest. Williamson scored 8.6 points per game.
PASTNER ENTERING SECOND SEASON: The 2026-27 campaign will be the second for Josh Pastner as head coach of the Runnin' Rebels. He led the program to the postseason in his first year at the helm, advancing to the second round of the NIT.
