AJ Storr To Join Men's Basketball Program

6-foot-5-inch guard from Rockford, Illinois, comes to the Runnin' Rebels as a fifth-year transfer after playing at Ole Miss, Kansas, Wisconsin and St. John's.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed commitment from AJ Storr to join the Runnin' Rebels for the 2026-27 season, head coach Josh Pastner announced Thursday.

Storr, a 6-foot-5-inch, 205-pound guard, will join UNLV after playing at Ole Miss last season, where he led the team in scoring. The Rockford, Illinois, native has also played at Kansas, Wisconsin and St. John's during his collegiate career.

"AJ has produced at a high level against some of the best competition in college basketball," Pastner said. "He has been part of high-major programs throughout his career, so he understands what it takes to compete. He has good positional size, can score in a variety of ways and gives us another experienced playmaker on the perimeter. We are excited to welcome AJ back to Las Vegas and the Runnin' Rebel family."

Storr played in all 35 games for Ole Miss last season, making 15 starts and leading the team with 15.5 points per game. He also averaged 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists while making 41 3-pointers and collecting 32 steals. During SEC play, he averaged 17.5 points per game, which ranked 13th in the conference, and scored 20 or more points 10 times.

He helped lead Ole Miss to the semifinals of the 2026 SEC Tournament, averaging 19.5 points over four games and earning All-SEC Tournament Team honors. His 78 points during the tournament were the 10th-most scored in a single SEC Tournament in conference history. Storr scored a season-high 27 points twice, including an overtime road win at Georgia in which he added eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Prior to Ole Miss, Storr spent the 2024-25 season at Kansas, appearing in 33 games with four starts. He scored in double figures eight times, including a season-high 19 points in a Big 12 Tournament victory over UCF, and added 15 points against Arkansas in the NCAA Tournament.

Storr enjoyed a breakout sophomore season at Wisconsin in 2023-24, earning All-Big Ten Second Team and Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors. He led the Badgers with 16.8 points per game while shooting 43.4% from the field and 81.2% from the free-throw line. Storr averaged 22.5 points during Wisconsin's run to the Big Ten Tournament championship game, highlighted by a career-high 30 points against Northwestern in the quarterfinals. He also helped the Badgers earn a berth in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

He began his collegiate career at St. John's in 2022-23, averaging 8.8 points per game and starting the final 17 contests of the season. He was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team and earned Big East Freshman of the Week honors three times.

A four-star recruit out of high school, Storr played a postgraduate season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he earned team MVP honors after averaging 22.8 points per game. He previously attended AZ Compass Prep and Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Storr has also competed internationally with the Bahamas National Team.

RETURNING REBELS: Tyrin Jones and Issac Williamson both returned to the program after playing as freshmen in 2025-26. Jones was selected to the Mountain West's All-Defensive Team and earned honorable mention All-MW honors. He averaged 11.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while leading the league in blocks with 2.2 per contest. Williamson scored 8.6 points per game.

PASTNER ENTERING SECOND SEASON: The 2026-27 campaign will be the second for Josh Pastner as head coach of the Runnin' Rebels. He led the program to the postseason in his first year at the helm, advancing to the second round of the NIT.
