LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team wrapped up action at the 2011 UNLV Spring Invitational, finishing in sixth place out of 15 teams here at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Pepperdine entered the final day with a two-stroke lead over BYU before shooting 10-under par as a team, taking team honors by 14 strokes over the Cougars.

Danielle Kang (Pepperdine) and Kelsey Vines (BYU) tied for medalist honors with each finishing at 10-under par for the tournament. Kang tied the low round of the week with a final round of 6-under par 66.

UNLV senior Therese Koelbaek finished with a 2-under par effort and in a tie for seventh place. The two-time All-American has not finished outside of the top-10 in a tournament this season. After a 2-under front nine, Koelbaek bogyed the 14th and 17th holes before finishing with a birdie on the par-4 18th to get back under for the round.

Freshman Katerina Prorokova shot a 4-over par final round to finish in a tie for 22nd place. After going 3-over par through the first three holes on the front nine, Prorokova carded birdies on the fifth and sixth holes before finishing with a 38. Bogey's on the 11th and 13th were followed by a string of five straight pars to end the back nine.

Senior Alejandra Guacaneme tied for 30th with a final total of 12-over for the week. She shot a three-over 39 on both sides today with her lone birdie coming at the par-3 eighth.

The Rebels will be back in action March 14-15, traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Club.
