LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com)
- Coming off a top-10 finish in its season-opener at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, the UNLV women's golf team will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the two-day Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, starting Sunday Sept. 25.

"We are looking forward to getting back out on the course," said head coach Amy Bush. "We will have a little bit of a change in our lineup from our first tournament, but we still expect to be competitive in a field of great teams at this year's tournament."

The 18-field team includes three ranked teams among the top 30 in the latest Golf World/NGCA poll, including No. 22 Pepperdine, No. 26 Iowa State and No. 30 TCU. Also joining the field will be New Mexico, Baylor, Campbell, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Iowa, North Texas, Northern Arizona, Northwestern, San Diego State, San Jose State, UTEP and Wyoming.

The two-day tournament kicks off Sunday, Sept. 25 with a shutgun start at 8 a.m. MDT. The first and second rounds will be played on day one with the final round set for an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 26.

The Rebels enter this week leading the Mountain West in individual and team stroke average. Sophomore Katerina Prorokova is coming off her first top-20 finish at UNLV following her a career-low round of 3-under 69 in the final round at the Ptarmigan Classic.

Joining Prorokova in the starting lineup this weekend will be freshmen Marguerite Swearingen and Mayko Chwen Wang, sophomore Charlotte Brooks and junior Ellis Keenan. Swearingen and Wang rank among the MW's top six individual scorers.

Brooks will be competing in her first tournament as a Rebel after transferring from Tulsa following her freshman season.

Keenan qualified for this weekend and will look to pick up her strong finish to last season. She led the MW Championship through two rounds after a career-low opening round of 4-under 68 before finishing fifth overall.
