NCAA Regional Day 2: UNLV Dips To 15th

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Stanford held on to first place by the slimmest of margins, shooting a plus-five 293 to find the Cardinal (287-293--580) just one stroke better than LSU (291-290--581).

North Carolina's Catherine O'Donnell also holds just a one stroke lead in the race for individual honors. Her five-under 70-69--139 leads LSU's Austin Ernst by a shot.

UNLV freshman Dana Finkelstein leads the Rebels after shooting a 1-over 73 on Friday to move into a tie for 22nd place (75-73--148).

Other UNLV players: Marguerite Swearingen is tied for 47th (7-over 74-77--151); Bethany Calvo is tied for 71st (10-over 79-75--154); Mayko Chwen Wang is tied for 91st (12-over 80-76--156); and Katarina Prorokova is tied for 95th (13-over 74-83--157).

The NCAA West Regional features 24 teams and 126 individuals. The top eight teams and two individuals not on those teams will advance to the national finals, which will be held at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., May 22-25.
