LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior Dana Finkelstein was named the Mountain West Co-Women's Golfer of the Month, the conference office announced on Wednesday. She shares the honor with San Diego State's Sirene Blair.
Finkelstein started the year with a seventh place finish at the Col. Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic at 1-over-par 217 (71-76-70). She followed that up with her third career victory at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at 9-under 210 (68-72-70). Finkelstein now has 12 top-five finishes in her career.
The Chandler, Ariz. native currently ranks 16th in the country, according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. This season she ranks second in the conference with a 71.17 stroke average and has posted five rounds of better-than-par in two tournaments played.
This is Finkelstein's eighth golfer of the week/month accolade of her career and her first this season.
The Rebels will return to action on October 12-14, as they will travel to play in the Betsy Rawls Invitational, which is hosted by Texas, in Austin, Texas.
